Making Challah Bread
So, maybe like a month ago, I learned how to make Challah bread. Lauren, one of the girls who was working here with me knew how to make it, and was making it for Shabbat here, but she was soon going to be leaving, so I asked her to teach me, so I could carry on making it. Lauren knows how to do a 6-braided Challah bread, so she taught me that, I am still not perfect at the 6-braid though! It is very pretty if you do it right. After Lauren left, I tried to make Challah again, I ended up using a different recipe, but it tasted very similar. The first loaf I braided, did not look that great, but then I helped Lindsey (another girl here at the time) braid hers, (okay, I didn't braid, but we figured out how it went), and that one turned out very pretty, so hopefully the next time I do it, it will be beautiful! I want to try a three-braided Challah sometimes too. We make two loaves to simbolize the double portion of Manna God gave on Friday to the Israelites in the desert. It is fun to make Challah bread!
