About a week ago, I got to be a part of something really cool. The Campbells have some friends, the Wallers, who are part-time missionaries to Israel. They go there and work in the vineyards of poorer farmers on the Mount of Blessing. They say they are a fulfillment of prophecy where it says in the Bible that foreigners would plant vineyards on that Mount. This family have 11 children, and they are truly amazing. Jews have a special meal to start the Sabbath, and it is called the Shabatt meal. So the Wallers invited quite a number of people to New River church to have a welcome home Shabatt for them, and they also wanted to teach people how to do the Shabatt meal, and they wanted to share about there trip etc. We had a lovely spread of food to eat. I think most everyone brought food. There was even Couscous and Hummus. I was excited! First in the Shabatt meal, the mother lights the candles, representing Creation and something else(can't remember fully). Then they say some things to bless God, and then the Father blesses his wife, and can even read Proverbs 31. After that, he lays his hand on each of the children's heads and blesses them. Then everyone eats bread and drinks juice or whatever. It is not unleavened bread though. It is quite interesting and good. It was a very joyful time. After the meal, they showed a video of there work in Israel, and of them working in the vineyards. They are becoming friends with Orthodox Jews, and encouraging some of the Jews to keep their land, and why they should. Then the sons led everyone in some worship songs in Hebrew. It was very pretty music. Then one of them spoke and challenged all of us to stand with Israel, no matter what. There were some other testimonies too, and the dad spoke. After all of that, the mom and kids went up and did a Jewish dance to the song, "I am zealous for Zion". It was really awesome!
There website was: http://www.hayovel.com/. By the way, all of us women in the house decided to dress as Africans for the event. We had so much fun and stayed up late the night before deciding what all to wear, the girls have nice African clothes, since they are from Liberia. So we went to a Jewish Shabatt in African clothes pretty funny! It was great!

You look gorgeous in your pictures! A true princess, and King's daughter! I am proud to have you as a sister, and I am hating myself for not staying closer to you this semester. I am rediculously selfish. Please forgive me. Hopefully we can really talk and get closer over Christmas break. I am sorry for only thinking of myself. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!
I have a new blog post...check it out and comment! Do unto others as you would have them do unto you... ya know!
Hey Hannah, Tigest here, I love the fact that you went to a Sabbath dinner dressed in African clothes. Ha ha. I wish I could go to a dinner like that, it sounds fun and interesting. I'm all into exploring other cultures, food, customs, people, etc...
